But unlike the Modernism that preceded it, this new architecture is firmly rooted in the cultures and sites that it is built upon, integrating the unique features of their physical and cultural landscapes into the universal language of Modernism. The result is a rich and varied collection of works that are more similar in their attitudes and approaches to building rather than visual stylistic consistency.
