Family Houses in the Country takes us to real homes imbued with the spirit of the families who delight in living in them. Author Alexandra d’Arnoux and photographer Gilles de Chabaneix travel through the United States, England, Scotland, Italy and France to find remarkable houses with beautiful, comfortable interiors where decorative detail combines with family tradition to create a memorable and timeless atmosphere. We visit a family homestead in California’s Napa Valley, a place of eternal summer. We experience the isolated but welcoming manor of Kerdaoualas on a hill in Brittany, and find that an intriguing home in the heart of Shropshire once housed a medieval abbey.
